1. Vaping is far safer than smoking
Vaping legitimately and responsibly produced nicotine-based e-liquids is 95% safer than smoking cigarettes. The overwhelming majority of reputable medical and scientific research supports this view. According to Public Health England, there is no situation where it would be better for your health to continue smoking rather than switching completely to vaping.
2. Vaping is the most effective aid to quitting smoking ever known
Smoking is the world’s greatest cause of unnecessary death and disease, taking 78,000 lives every year in the UK and over 6 million people worldwide. Smoking-related illnesses are also accountable for half a million NHS hospital admissions over the same period. Vaping has been found to help more smokers to quit than any medical intervention, and although the majority of people that have made the switch have done so alone, it is particularly effective when used with psychological support.
3. E-liquid flavors and Nicotine salts are important to vapers
Contrary to many media reports, reputable businesses do not manufacture or market flavored e-liquids to make vaping more attractive to young people but to make vaping attractive to adult smokers. The vast majority of smokers that have stopped smoking completely through vaping have done so using flavors other than tobacco, as flavors are an important part of the alternative experience. Nicotine salts are also an important factor in helping smokers transition as they produce a smoother experience and a more effective nicotine hit.
4. Vaping is not a gateway to smoking for young people
Reports of vaping by young people, particularly in the US allude to a youth vaping ‘epidemic’, but this is now not known to be the case. Some young people do experiment with vaping occasionally, but long-term frequent use is almost entirely confined to those that had already taken up smoking. If there is a gateway, it is leading young people away from tobacco consumption, rather than towards it.
5. E-liquids and vape devices are strictly regulated in the UAE
The UAE has some of the strictest regulation for e-cigarettes in the world. Under ESMA compliance regulations, e-liquid products and vape devices are subject to minimum standards of quality and safety, as well as packaging and labeling requirements to provide consumers with the information they need to make informed decisions. All legitimate products in the UAE are notified by manufacturers to ESMA, with detailed information including a full list of ingredients.
